Privacy Policy for Champul

Champul ("the app," "we," "our") is a traditional board game app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled. We built Champul to be played with friends, not to collect data about you — this page describes exactly the small amount of information the app does need to make that work.

Information We Collect

When you play locally (pass-and-play on one device): Champul collects no personal information at all. Player names you type in for a local game stay on your device only and are never sent anywhere.

When you play online with friends: to let devices in the same game room see each other's moves live, we use Google Firebase (Firestore and Anonymous Authentication). This means the following is temporarily stored on Firebase's servers while a room exists:

• An anonymous device identifier, automatically generated by Firebase Authentication. This is not tied to your name, email, phone number, or any other personal account — it exists only to tell devices in the same room apart from each other.
• The player name you choose to type in for that game (or a default color name like "Blue" if you don't enter one).
• The live state of the game itself — whose turn it is, where the tokens are, dice rolls, and so on — so every device in the room can show the same board.
• The room code itself, which is randomly generated and only useful to people you've shared it with.

Online game rooms are automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity. We do not build profiles, do not track you across sessions, and do not link this information to any real-world identity.

Crash and Error Reporting

Champul uses Firebase Crashlytics to help us find and fix bugs. If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, basic technical diagnostic information (such as the device model, OS version, and the error itself) is sent automatically so we can improve the app. This data is not linked to your name or any personal identity.

What We Don't Do

• We don't show ads.
• We don't sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We don't require an account, email address, or password to play.
• We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or any device data beyond what's described above.

Children's Privacy

Champul is a general-audience board game and is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.

Data Retention & Deletion

Online room data is deleted automatically after 24 hours. If you'd like anything associated with a specific game session removed sooner, or have any other question about your data, contact us (below) and we'll handle it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Champul after a change means you accept the updated policy.
